I've been seeing lots of hate on Kira people saying "she's a replacement of Allison" I don't get it, why can she be her own person? A badass Katana whirling Kitsune. Also there's people hating on Arden Cho for her character... like she and her character are two different people and it's just irrelevant. Any thoughts? Sorry about my mini rant, lol.

People who say Kira is a replacement for Allison are literally idiots. They make it sound like they’re the exact same character and Kira has no other storyline or character arc besides to be Allison’s replacement and that makes no fucking sense? Kira was here in 3b and had her OWN separate storyline before she even got with Scott so people calling her a love interest are dumb. Also, Kira is nothing like Allison? NOTHING. She is a thunder kitsune, introduced as initially unpopular (as opposed to allison who became superficially friends with the most popular girl in school), ACCEPTED SCOTT FOR WHO HE WAS AS OPPOSED TO ALLISON, her relationship developed slowly with scott and her parents encouraged that relationship (especially her dad vs. chris), she’s afraid of her powers, she’s awkward, and when she did rebel against her parents wishes she did it to save others and not like Allison in s2 who hurt other people. She’s optimistic and shy and is her own individual character apart from Scott. She has her own storyline this season, she has her own scenes, she has scenes with people who aren’t Scott and I know you originally didn’t talk about Kira being considered a love interest but a lot of Kira hate I see is because of that. That they consider her irrelevant or a love interest when they don’t even realize how many times she’s saved everyone’s asses.

And it pisses me of that people worship Allison as if she’s some powerful feminist hero (when um she’s not) and then degrade Kira at the same time. Like, lol hypocritessssssssssssssssssss.

i definitely love both allison and kira and feel like allison does a great deal of growth throughout her arc?? i feel like she can definitely be a feminist icon through her growth from love interest to a character of individual worth and talent??

I feel like we don’t have to put allison down in order to bring kira up because i love kira too???

To me she just comes off as white feminist (but that’s just my opinion. I don;t hate her, I do like her and I agree she did have a lot of character growth especially in s3) but I wasn’t trying to put Allison down, all I was trying to do was differentiate between the two of them since people always compare them when they are really different characters. And my last point was referenced towards how I don’t understand how the same people who hail Allison as some feminist hero hate Kira at the same time. Like that doesn’t make any sense. Also, people put Kira down in order to put Allison up all the time.

I really don’t see this at all

My biggest complaint is that kira doesn’t get enough screen time at all

Like I don’t see nastiness toward kira a t a l l. ((but it is very possible this is just who I follow))

Mostly I see the writers not giving kira the plot she deseves

I guess I get when u mean about white feminists but I don’t think allison represents that at all. I feel she really just represents a WOMAN’S growth from doing what she is told to doing what she believes is right. And I totally believe u when u say that people are bashing kira because they miss allison. It sucks but I feel women are doing that out of internalized misogyny and don’t understand that they are allowed to be mad at the writers for the way allison was treated and not kira.

most women have been trained to hate other women before hating men for treating women badly and that is where a lot of this comes from.

basically I love allison and kira and the writers are who perpetuate this competition
